House Bill 2710 proposes to create the Behavior Analyst Licensing Act to provide for licensure of behavior analysts and assistant behavior analysts in the state of Illinois. Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) provide assessment, treatment plan development, on-going supervision of direct treatment staff and treatment outcome reporting to insurers. Insurers have stated they want a state verification system for BCBAs as they exist for other behavioral health care practitioners.
Please note, state licensure for behavior analyst is not required to move forward with a state Medicaid ABA benefit.
